- I liked the class a lot. Brian was very fun and exciting, and he was enthusiastic about teaching me to make my writing better. He was also calm and patient. I think that the fact that we did it on the computer made the lesson especially fun. I definitely learned a lot and would like to continue in the future.

Fifth Grader, Horace Mann School, New York City, USA - Cynthia has been my teacher for 4 years. We usually have one lesson a week. Her lessons help me to maintain and improve my English vocabulary in order to communicate with my foreign colleagues and improve my understanding of the spoken English. I also learn a lot of fascinating things about Hawaii - a small faraway paradise - and I learn a lot of new information about other exotic countries Cynthia (tireless traveller) has visited. In addition, I just enjoy communication with a very energetic, intelligent and positive person!
Prof. Lukina
Hematology Research Center, Moscow - It says a lot about English Hound's commitment to education that the Founder/CEO personally conducts a rigorous screening process to find the most qualified teachers. What is special about English Hound is that it individualizes lessons to fit the abilities of exceptional students who are many years ahead of their grade. It is well respected among our circle of well-educated friends who value learning. And the bonus is that it can be done at home!
Lynda Chin
Professor and Founding Chair of the Department of Genomic Medicine, MD Anderson Cancer Center; Former Professor at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Medical School - Thank you so much for being such a great English teacher. I appreciate all that you have taught me because those are the things that will help me be successful in life.

4th Grader from Korea - My daughter Allyson is a 3rd grader. She has taken classes with Mrs. Megan for more than 3 months, and Mrs. Megan has already become her all-time favorite teacher. She has improved her reading and writing in such a short period of time, and more importantly she becomes very confident with her humanities. I am very impressed by how Mrs. Megan designed the classwork and homework. My daughter is always eager to join the class session and happy to finish the homework.

- I am delighted to write this letter of recommendation for Nancy Simmons. I worked in Nancy's classroom as her teaching assistant for several years. Her love of reading and writing bridged a genuine connection with each student. Learning phonics, grammar, spelling, and punctuation became fun to her students. She motivated them to have the skills necessary to read a book they were interested in or write a story about something they found fascinating. A Nancy provided them with a variety of literary activities including pen pals, a library of books, and creative writing projects, but it was HER that made all the difference in the world to each student
Mary Grambusch
Arcohe School - Mrs. Ferrara’s work with students in particular has always been impressive. Her incredible patience and dedication to finding strategies in order to aid in student success have, in my opinion, been second to none. Mrs. Ferrara always attempts to treat each student individually, never assuming that what works for one individual will work for another.
Mr. Manstavich
Former Vice Principal - It was fun even when we were learning and he helped me write a good story. I highly recommend this class.

4th Grader, Upper School, New Jersey, USA - I was taking Skype classes from Cynthia from March 2009 till March 2011, before I came to US. I chose Skype classes because I wanted to study from a native speaker. I had 2-3 classes every week with Cynthia and It was so effective, so life changing, because I overcame my fear of foreign language, insecurity that I cannot speak and pronounce properly. It was a safe and lovely environment and convenient time for me. I really appreciate Cynthia for her heart, professionalism and attention and patience for me. I am now a student in the college in US.

USA / Russia - Mary helped my daughter expand her vocabulary. After getting to know my daughter's level, Mary came up with a selection of words that are adequately challenging for the online session. My daughter enjoyed studying the vocabulary building class with Mary. She told me that she learned a lot not only what the words mean but also how to use them in sentences to convey exact ideas. I suppose that this came from Mary's long experience in teaching middle school students as well as from her excellent educational skills. At first, I did not appreciate effectiveness of online education. But we are satisfied with the tutoring service by Englishhound.com and will use more for enhancing my kids' education.
BYUNG-HO KANG
Assistant Professor At The University Of Florida; University Of Wisconsin-Madison, Ph.D.In Biochemistry - You are a very unique and special teacher. You are the only teacher that saw the potential I have within me. I am thankful for everything you have done for me!

- I have had the pleasure of knowing Mrs. Mary Collins for nearly twenty years, and have used her services as tutor for my daughter in the last ten years. My daughter was in middle school and high school when tutored by Mrs. Collins. Emily, an advanced student, would occasionally get stymied when writing an essay or interpreting literature. Mrs. Collins was excellent at helping Emily find her own voice by asking questions, gently guiding her to her own conclusions. Her quiet and encouraging manner would guide Emily, as she put it, to "her best self". Emily went on to become valedictorian at her high school, an honors student in college, and now serves as a Fulbright scholar. I would like to add, knowing Mrs. Collins all these years, that her character is absolutely impeccable. I recommend her without hesitation and most highly

- My daughter has learned skills beyond reading and writing from Mrs. Simmons in her two years being a part of her ongoing reading and writing workshops. Mrs. Simmons encourages students to think beyond the book and explore the many ideas inspired by the author. As a writer, my daughter has learned to believe she can express herself and her ideas through writing. She has gained valuable problem-solving skills and confidence through reading, writing and discussions with Mrs. Simmons.

Former Principal - Stephanie did a remarkable job with the young students. She was always the utmost professional. She motivated the youth to learn, she interacted with them in a very respectful way and this was evident in the relationships the youth then established with Stephanie. I know that their literacy levels increased due to the dedication Stephanie had with each of them. Stephanie was always diligent in her work, always punctual and was a real asset to this Community Centre. She was also very creative in her sessions with the youth to ensure they had the best possible learning experience.

Executive Director at Buckmaster’s Circle - Hi, Stephanie! I have just received the offer from NYUSH. Your efforts played a rather important part in this. You edited my personal statement, self-introduction. More importantly, you gave me an English conversation environment and taught me the literature analysis skills (which happened to be the sample class topic), which made me not afraid to speak in the class and be more relaxed. It is with your help that I can finally be admitted by NYUSH.

English Hound Student - Stephanie is an English teacher of rich experience and great patience. She carefully reads any article you write, and underline every mistake and imperfection that needs improving before class. During the class, she is particularly good at designing questions to lead students to their own solutions and enlighten them to think much deeper. Learning with Stephanie, students can expect apparent progress in their organization and design of overall framework, along with improvement in internal logic between passages and passages, sentences and sentences.

- Stephanie is such an awesome and responsible teacher. She always inspires me on my process writing essays, solves my confusing questions and helps me to perfect the essays! I am so happy to have her as my teacher, and I would have never gotten so much improved regarding my phrasing, grammar, organization process and writing techniques without her!

Arcohe School - My daughter has learned skills beyond reading and writing from Mrs. Simmons.

- Cynthia has been my teacher for 4 years.
Prof. Lukina
Hematology Research Center, Moscow - I was taking Skype classes from Cynthia from March 2009 till March 2011, before I came to US.

Moscow, Russia - I like to learn English with Cynthia. Learning the language is interesting, quick, and without too much effort. Thanks to Cynthia Bangs I learned to speak, to understand and even to feel the language during two years. Now I can understand and speak without pre-translating. Today I continue to learn English with pleasure. I recommend lessons with Cynthia to anybody who wants to study English, and who is motivated, goal directed and wants real results.

She also tutored students in writing a variety of genres, applying the writing process and traits of writing. She offers praise and helps students to feel successful. I am confident to recommend Cynthia Bangs to any school or organization that supports children.
Cari Kojima
3rd grade teacher, Kealakehe Elementary School, USA - I am very pleased to have English lessons with Cynthia. I studied English for many years before, but have never been able to speak freely. Thanks to our training, I no longer fall into a stupor and can easily communicate with foreigners. Another problem that was solved during our classes was misunderstanding speech. In addition to excellent results in improving English, Cynthia is the most positive person in the world. Cynthia is full of inspiring ideas. Cynthia has always supported and encouraged. She is not just an English fluency coach, she is also a great companion who is incredibly nice to talk with.

HR Director, Moscow Russia - I am extremely appreciative and grateful for all the work that Cynthia has done for me. It helped me dramatically to gain the confidence needed for job interviewing. Every single lesson Cynthia provides is highly personalized - you get what you really need at your own pace. Cynthia is a caring and fantastic teacher. What makes her special is that she also becomes a very good model for her students. I didn't realize how much I had learned until I forced myself to put it into practice. I would recommend Cynthia's lessons to anyone who wants to improve their English skills.

Because Cynthia offers the highest level of professionalism and flexibility with regard to the student. She adapts to the students' particular needs - speech practice, grammar, reading of texts, and so on. Cynthia demonstrates a high level of responsibility and punctuality.

- Ms. Carroll is a teacher who never fails to further polish and challenge my writing. By dissecting each sentence, its meaning, and how each word functions, Ms. Carroll excels at making mundane ideas or sentences more potent and meaningful.

- Mary's vocabulary class was really educational. I took it with my friend in Korea and we both felt like we learned a lot of words. Mary is really nice and patient. The class was really fun taking it with a friend!

4th Grader - Mary is a great teacher and I learned so much from her. I took 2 sessions with her and really learned a lot.
4th Grader

Patricia A. Sweeney
MD, New Albany, Ohio - I had the opportunity of shadowing several of Mary's tutoring sessions. Her in-depth knowledge of the subject matter she teaches is accompanied by an excitement for learning, which is contagious and makes her students eager to learn. She is excellent at creating learning experiences that are fun and interactive. She is also great at getting to know her students and using that information to individualize lessons and keep students motivated.

Colleague, online tutoring - Megan is very energetic and engaging. She evaluated the student’s level first and picked proper materials for each student. I’m glad that my child is able to stay focused and followed Megan’s instruction during the entire class. Megan gives recap after each class, and gets back to my questions on time. I appreciate her effort and enthusiasm in English teaching!

Simmons.
Harriet Hudson
Parent - Ms. Ferrara was extremely successful at engaging her students. Using a variety of active, project-based, and relevant lessons, she was able to give struggling students the skills and self-confidence they needed to make academic progress. Her positive attitude, strong work ethic, and relentless efforts to support at-risk youth earned her the well-deserved reputation as a lead teacher at the school.
Carol Marriot
Former Principal - The writing class was great! Brian kindly and thoroughly explained things I couldn't understand.

6th Grader, DW International Middle School, Korea - Cynthia, thank you for teaching me English. I was very nervous before the first class, but your lovely smiled relaxed me. It is difficult for me to speak English and I could not speak very well, but you listened to my speaking carefully and kindly, so I could try to speak English and I enjoyed it. I'll never forget about your classes!

Japan - English Hound is such a wonderful program for children learning to read. It uses the renowned Houghton Mifflin Harcourt's digital reading curriculum that is aligned with the Common Core objectives. It's also convenient because my son can do the lessons while I cook dinner!
